Hello!

Hello people! This is my first post and I just thought I would introduce myself and give you a little background. My name is Audrie Mecham. Outside of art, I also love tennis, camping, fishing, swimming, movies! I am a college student at Dixie State University pursuing a Bachelor's in Fine Arts with a Painting and Drawing emphasis. I study under the amazing Del Parson (if you don't know him - shame. Look him up!) who is my artistic idol.

I have been drawing since before I can remember. In first grade, I gained a reputation for drawing mermaids and horses rather than doing what the teacher said we were doing. When I was nine, my grandma recognized my growing interest in art, and decided to start an art class for me where I could interact with other young, aspiring artists. She is also an artist and a graduate from Art Center. I like to think of that class as "boot camp" for little artists. Needless to say, I learned a lot and grew a lot!

At first, I didn't think I choose to be an artist as a career occupation. But after exploring my veterinarian option during a high school internship, I decided I had better just stick to what I knew I could do and was happy doing! (I guess stitches, dying animals, and awful stinky smells just didn't quite settle right for me).

So here I am! My work is my hobby! And in case you're wondering - my favorite thing to draw is people. And yes, I do commissions, and yes, I can do one for you.
